Apocalypse 2059

Welcome to the savage world of 2059, where survival is a daily struggle and civilization is nothing but a distant memory.

The World That Was

In 2030, an event known as "The Cataclysm" forever changed the face of Earth. Nuclear weapons claimed lives in an instant, plunging the world into a devastating nuclear winter that lasted over a decade. Civilization, law, and morality crumbled into dust. The surface became an inferno, forcing what little plant life remained to retreat underground. For the few who survived, existence became a constant battle against extinction.

Twenty years have passed. The pre-war generation grows old, while a new generation rises, knowing nothing of the world that came before.

Your Story Begins

The story takes place in the year 2059. You, the protagonist, have been living in solitude in a shelter since your birth. These peaceful days are changed by the appearance of a mysterious woman. At her urgent request, you'll embark on a perilous journey across the savage lands of what was once civilization.

I ended up liking it quite a lot, at least it seems to me that it has a lot of potential what it wants to tell and the visual part, ie the design of the girls, I loved.

Even in a way I appreciate that it seems not to be rushing with the H content, because for how the main character is now I'm genuinely curious how that will develop, although the little glimpses either by the situation or the design of the clothes on the girls is appreciated.

Thank you for your love and interest :)

感觉非常有潜力的一个作品,希望作者能够一直坚持下去

Thanks for your comment :)

by the way, will this game have sexual scene

I'm loving the development of the story, and it's very difficult to find good narratives like this. I think gems like these should be valued.

Hi adyin

Thank you for your favorite, and yes, this game has an official Chinese translation, it was done and handled by my Chinese localization collaborator XerxesBreak. You can choose either English or Chinese in the game.

Just finished v0.2, which compelled me to write a "review" (comment), so here it goes.

I decided to paste the long version (with spoilers) in Rentry as its length might be hard to read and obstruct other comments:
https://rentry.co/an_apo2059_review

In short (no spoilers):

If you haven't played it yet and are looking at the comments to decide: play it. Give it a try, especially if you're tired of many other slice-of-life AVNs. The story is captivating and unique compared to most other AVNs in the sense that it tries to present the harsh life in the wasteland optimistically whilst maintaining a certain grittiness and the grim fact that one wrong move can kill you. It's not afraid to explore the darker aspects of humanity in such a wasteland. But that doesn't mean there's no room for love to bloom. The pacing and balance between violence, reflection, and thought-provoking moments are just right, and I found myself getting lost in a whirlwind of emotions.

The visuals, while not the most realistic, nicely convey the post-apocalyptic atmosphere whilst catering to the AVN genre. There is a sense of cold emptiness in each scene which is contrasted to the humanity and liveness of the characters. Every material and surface is worn from radiation and time itself, and there's a certain bleakness to the settings. This applies especially to the character designs—stylish yet realistic, making them different to what I have seen in most other AVNs, a breath of fresh air. The atmosphere and models reminds me a lot of Fallout 3/4.

As for the characters, mainly the "love interests", they are so very three-dimensional. Each of them is different from the other in terms of unique personalities and weaknesses that make them feel real. And most importantly, they aren't just there for the sake of being there or to just serve a fetish. Sure, they aren't as grim and dark as one would expect for a wasteland genre (since it's supposed to be lighthearted), but the main characters are far from generic. You should definitely check out the "Character Tales" in the "Profile" menu (top right) in the game. They serve as diary entries (sort of) of the characters' backstories and recounts of important events from their perspective. For me, that is an epic idea that allows readers to further empathise with the main characters.

All in all, a very unique and interesting game. Although the apocalyptic nature of the story is a bit niche, I find myself liking it more than any other AVN I've played. Oh, and when you do decide to play it, try to think of it as an alternate world you're escaping into instead of just an "Adult Visual Novel". Focusing on the story will let you enjoy it more, as there are no lewd scenes as yet.

Minor bug note: Not sure if it's intended, but the character Tales reset when you close the game. Reloading a save doesn’t re-unlock them, so I’ve had to restart and skip through. Maybe the Boolean values are stored in a temporary storage?

Dear nicknocknick

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! I'm truly touched by how deeply you connected with the world and characters of Apocalypse 2059. I'm particularly happy that you enjoyed the "Character Tales" - it was designed to give players exactly that deeper connection to the characters as you mentioned. And thank you for pointing out the bug with the tales resetting when closing the game. You're right about it likely being a Boolean value storage issue, and I'll make sure to fix this in the next update.

I look forward to creating more memorable experiences for you in future versions. Your detailed feedback is incredibly valuable and motivating for me as a developer.

Thank you again for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review :D

Thanks a lot for the reply. I'm really glad the feedback was helpful and motivating (I was worried it would be too tedious to read and end up wasting your time) as I also had fun writing it.

Apocalypse 2059 really has the potential to blow up... just like The Cataclysm, but in a good way of course.

Anyways, I don't want to take up any more of your time so I wish you a fun and epic creative journey! :D

I finally gathered the courage to read your 'long version' review. I was hesitant at first - reading thoughtful feedback on something you've poured your heart into can be both exciting and overwhelming. But now, let me honestly express my feelings.

Your thoughtful analysis and kind words have genuinely moved me. Your understanding of the themes, characters, and world I've tried to create in Apocalypse 2059 is astounding - you've captured exactly what I hoped to convey, and even noticed details and connections I wasn't sure anyone would discover. I've put considerable effort into character design. I love each character, treating them like my own children, trying to think from their perspectives. I wanted each character to have a compelling story and three-dimensional personality, maintained through their consistent motivations and deeper contradictions throughout. Each character is vibrant and alive, not just placeholders or inferior products designed out of plot necessity.

Moreover, your observations about the visual design, the symbolic meaning of focal length changes, and how lighting choices reflect the emotional tone of scenes - these insights are incredibly validating for me as a creator. I did incorporate some small design elements, and I'm delighted you discovered them, although they aren't fully refined. I've never formally studied these techniques before, and I'm still exploring these skills and designs, but I hope to do the best within my capabilities.

Beyond these two aspects, I have many more reflections and feelings, but I cannot summarize them clearly at the moment. I'm sure I'll spend a great deal of time reading and rereading your review, as its value speaks for itself. Please rest assured that this feedback won't create any artistic obstacles or pressure for me. Instead, it has strengthened my resolve, confirming that all my efforts and designs are worthwhile - they're simply waiting to be discovered.

Most importantly, thank you for reminding me to enjoy telling my stories. Creation can sometimes feel overwhelming, but passionate players like you make it all worthwhile. I'll keep your suggestions close to heart as I continue developing this world.

With gratitude,
BigH4nd

Wow, I'm happy you understood and received all the points in the review! And I'm more happy that they motivated and encouraged you in the right direction instead of pressuring you.

I didn't know your native language was not English before writing the review. So, I'm sorry if it was too complex and informal. Rest assured though, the English in the game is perfect and "different" from other games (I can't pinpoint how). You're Japanese right? If so, that's honestly so cool since I'm also into a lot of media from Japan. I appreciate how you treat your characters, "treating them like my own children" because that reminds me of Japanese creative masterminds like Hayao Miyazaki.

Judging from your replies, I'm glad that this story is in good hands. I don't know you personally but you seem very passionate and true about your work. You know to appreciate the beauty of worldbuilding and storytelling while being familiar with technical aspects.

I would love to support you on Patreon but my financial situation is not so stable right now, so maybe in the future! That's why I'm so happy you found the review moving because that's all I can do to support!

Thank you for your time and stories dear BigH4nd! ( ´ ▽ ` )

Just finished playing the v0.2 build of the game! While I enjoyed the overall experience, I felt the protagonist was a bit too passive throughout the story—constantly on the receiving end of conflicts. Given their established background and abilities, I expected more proactive moments to showcase their strength. Still, the narrative had some interesting ideas. Keep up the work!

Hi scyzqmk

Thank you for your valuable feedback regarding the characterization of the protagonist. Your observation that the protagonist seems a bit too passive in the story so far is spot on, and this is designed primarily to leave plenty of room for the character to grow so as to fully characterize his character arc and reveal his inner conflicts; that is to say, there will be more proactive moments in the future to showcase his own strengths. All in all, this is a project that will last 4-5 years, so please look forward to the subsequent storyline, and thank you again for your encouragement!

I've loved the setting and storyline so far, finally a game with the potential to compete with Desert Stalker, my favorite post-apocalyptic game.

(+1)

Thank you for your appreciation and I hope that the subsequent storyline will fulfill your expectations :)

很有意思的故事,就是不知道男主帅不帅,希望后面有把头盔摘下的情节。加油~

Thank you for your support :)

Me encanto, tiene un potencial increible.

Thank you for your appreciation.

Any plan for android in future? Tbh I'm more of mobile player then PC. Many players are android only so it will also benefits them.

(+1)

Yes, I've noticed this and I'll try to make an android version and if all goes well I'll release it in the next big update.

I play it with joiplay, pretty sweet.

I see a great potential.

Keep up the good work. I read your reply on other comments. I loved to see that you're so close to your audience & answer in such details, It shows how much you care for your project & people who love your game. It's rare to see someone like you these days bcz most Dev are only money grabbers & don't buy attention to players request, concerns & content improvement.

(+1)

Hi Playboy420

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, it warms my heart. It's strengthened my heart to create this visual novel in the first place.

In fact, I didn't expect my game to receive so much attention and support from so many players, so yes, like you said, I've been grateful to all the people who love this project since the first day it was released.

I've always believed that the people who love my game are my most valuable asset :)

Will there be android version

(-1)

Yes, I think I'll make an android version, I need to learn how to build it from now on. If all goes well, I'll update it along with the next version ;)

(+2)

Can I ask hehe if this would have like you know some romance and some love interest's?

(+2)

Hi Leo_22357

Yes! All female characters in the game may become potential love interests, and in subsequent stories you may be able to develop relationships with them through your own choices.

I think all girls are protagonists and it's normal for each player to fall in love with a different girl, and I try not to ignore any of them.

(+1)

Oh ok thanks very much for answering my question HEHEHE.

(+1)

Hi dev, I just would like to ask. Is NTR one of your plans?(I hope not). I just would like to clarify before I start

(+6)

Hi NoParking1

I can assure you: this game does not contain any NTR elements, either now or in the future. There will be no plot where a rival steals the girl away.

(+5)

I'm glad, I'm going to start playing this. Hoping for your successful game and keep up the good work.

(+1)

Thank you for your support and kind words :D

Ooh, I do like me some post-apocalyptic setting. Will be keeping my eyes on this one. Probably too early to jump in for me, but you never know.

Now I do have some questions.

What are the fetishes? Is it just the standard avn full of big tits and no choice? I'd prefer zero big milkers myself, but understand a dev has his/her own vision and catering to the internet after all.

Anal? Rape? Pregnancy? BDSM? Group? Femdom/Maledom? etc

Might be too early to tell us, but it would be nice with a list of planned/never happening features.

Features that I would appreciate; speed control in animated scenes, multiple angles, choice of hole (depending on situation etc), pose/position control etc.   Obviously none of these create less work. Just a personal wishlist if you will.

Regardless of your answers to this, I wish you every success with your game!

Hi randomuser6728

Thank you for your interest in this! Let me answer your question.

The first thing that needs to be made clear is that I'll probably need to cater to the largest number of players first and foremost, and offer as many options as possible on top of that. As for your question, I don't have a particular preference in that regard, so I'll make them as widely distributed as possible in terms of size, from small to large in all types, you get the idea ;)

As for features you mentioned above, I haven't planned it out in detail at the moment, but your suggestions are excellent! I think I can list the planned content and the content that will never come on this page, and update the former as much as possible to make sure that players are able to get a first-hand look at the genres of this title and decide whether or not to play it based on their personal preferences.

Thank you for your kind words, it warms my heart and I wish you all the best <3

any pregnancy plans for game?

(+1)

Hi maskall
Currently no, because I've never been exposed to such content. But people get pregnant all the time, don't they?
I'll consider this if my supporters like it. Thanks for your comment ; )

(+1)(-1)

nice start, good luck.

Thanks for your comment.

I dont understand why someone would downvote this comment. Lol

Hi DEV, It looks good and the girls too, now I have important questions, will there be content and a harem ending?

and is the content forced or can it be avoided? by this I mean some fetishes or tags that are sometimes presented in the game that are no

(2 edits) (+5)

Nice to meet you, Rockero69

I've been away from online interactions for a long time, so I'll answer your questions one by one :

・About "content": Don't worry. Players can choose 'pure love' scenarios, and all unpleasant elements can be completely avoided.

・About "ending": At the moment I'm not planning my ending very meticulously, as it's a long term project. The currently released version is about 25% of the first chapter of the first season (excluding the prologue and special chapters). The harem ending is a sure thing, it's a lighthearted visual novel, no girls will die or receive damage, and there aren't any same-sex competitors to snatch up girls from you. It's just like any other relationship simulation game you've ever played.

・About "tags": I'm still not very familiar with tags, and I will correct any mistakes. I try to make the tags accurately reflect the game content, not just to create topics.

If I've misunderstood your concerns, please let me know in your reply ;)

(+1)

Likewise, thank you for taking your time to respond and I look forward to seeing how the game develops, good luck and greetings.

Regarding labels, I was referring to by this I mean some fetishes or tags that are sometimes presented in the game that are not to everyone's liking such as lesbians, ntr, femdom

(+3)

Thanks for your kind words :)

I can assure you and all players that NTR will not be added to the game in any form. I don't have any plans for lesbian/bisexual or femdom content at this time, but if a large number of players want this type of content, I may consider it from now on.

Of course, including the lesbian/bisexual content I mentioned, as well as any other content that might trigger your displeasure, I'll be implementing those elements in ways that can be avoided. I want to make the main storyline meet the expectations of many players, with IF routes and choices to cater to a variety of preferences. I want everyone to enjoy the game on their own playstyle.

I wish you all the best
